Experience:
The tour starts with a peaceful walk through lush green tea fields, where you'll meet experienced tea pluckers and observe their traditional techniques. You'll also have the opportunity to try tea picking yourself, using a basket and a small mottu, as well as dress in the customary wraparound saree or sarong if you'd like to fully immerse yourself in the experience.
Before starting the tea-picking session, you'll join in a brief worship ritual at a nearby kovil dedicated to Lord Ganesh, adding a cultural touch to your tour.
The next stop is a guided visit to our working Tea Factory. Here, you will observe the meticulous process of transforming freshly plucked tea leaves into the finest Ceylon tea. Watch the stages of withering, rolling, fermenting, and drying, all of which are critical in creating the tea’s distinct flavors.
To complete your tea journey, you'll enjoy a tea-tasting session at our Sky Cafe, perched 300m above the ground with breathtaking views of tea plantations and surrounding countryside. Sample a variety of Ceylon teas and learn about the differences in flavor, grade, and characteristics that make Ceylon tea so renowned worldwide.
