Yapahuwa Entrance Tickets

One of the most historically important sites in Sri Lanka, once home to the Sacred Tooth Relic before shifting to Kandy, Yapahuwa is a less frequented site that speaks volumes of our heritage. One of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka for a very short period, the Yapahuwa Rock Fortress is somewhat identical to the Sigiriya Lion’s Rock. A fortress built at the pinnacle of a massive rock, there is a very steep staircase that leads you to the entrance and is considered as the main features of the site. You will find an ancient doorway guarded by two lion statues. A further climb of 20 minutes through a steep walking path gets you to the summit of the fortress offering breathtaking 360 degree views of the surroundings.

You can easily book your tickets online through Lakpura enabling us to provide you with a physical ticket before entering the gates of the historical site. The Lakpura booking reference alone doesn’t allow you access and it is advised that you have the entrance ticket in your hand prior to your visit to avoid any delays. The services of an English speaking guide if necessary can be booked through us for an additional charge.
